While I'm not an expert in the field, I have always been interested in developments for Aboriginal languages in Australian schools, so have recently tackled Nancy Hornberger's book, 'Can Schools Save Indigenous Languages? Policy and Practice on Four Continents. Perhaps you already know it, but if not, I'd suggest that it's worth a look - even if it doesn't contain examples from Australia, as I had hoped. Unfortunately, I couldn't attend your meeting tonight, but intend to support your conference. Do please post details on this site as soon as practicable. Good luck with everything!

I'm just wary of claims that anything is the 'only' solution. All language learning is fun if taught in the right way, all languages are useful for their own sake and have the potential to build bridges.

Esperanto is the not only the best solution, it is the only solution.
The learning of Esperanto is not only fun and extremely useful for its own sake, it is also the best bridge to train students to leatn any language other than their own.

We are looking to introduce languages and immersion in languages in our primary school. Could you please advise how or if your organisation could assist us. We are K-12 school, located in Braidwood with less then 500 students in tota. It would be fantastic to get some tips or help on where we should start and how to develop the program. Many thanks Gail

Hi Veronica, It's been a little while since your post but I also am a Spanish speaking mum and am looking for an informal playgroup for my children. I have a 4yr old boy and a 2yr old girl. Please let me know if you found anything. Thanks.
Cheers,
Pamela
